ArticleAudio gives you two listening modes, and you can configure your default mode in settings. Streaming starts almost instantly, while generating audio in Classic mode takes a few seconds.
For large Claude responses or big selected blocks, ArticleAudio can automatically fall back to Classic mode regardless of your setting, because full controls are more convenient for long audio.
Streaming is the default mode. It is best for short selections, quick checks, and Claude responses you want to hear within a few seconds.
Classic mode is better for longer text because you get a progress bar, skip controls, playback speed, and a download option.
The orange response button is the fastest option when you want the entire answer. The existing selection tools are still there when you want more control.

Claude is especially useful for long explanations, comparisons, writing feedback, and research synthesis. Audio turns those blocks of text into something you can review while walking, cooking, commuting, or resting your eyes.
Listening slows the page down in a good way. It helps you hear the structure of an argument, notice caveats, and absorb dense technical or strategic answers without rereading the same paragraph.
Streaming is better for short answers because it starts quickly. Classic mode is better if you regularly listen to longer Claude responses and want seek, speed, and download controls.
Wait until Claude finishes generating before listening, so the audio includes the full answer.
Use the response button for the whole answer and text selection for one passage.
Use Classic mode when you want to save or replay a longer response later.
If the response contains code, select the explanation around the code when that will sound more natural than reading symbols aloud.
