Is this read aloud tool free?
Yes. Paste text and listen with no sign-up and no account. It reads up to 1,000 words at a time.
How many words can I listen to at once?
Up to 1,000 words per play. If you paste more, the first 1,000 words play and the rest stay in the box, so you can delete what you have heard and press Play again. To listen to whole pages without copying anything, use the ArticleAudio browser extension.
Which voices can I use?
Five natural AI voices: Alloy, Shimmer, Echo, Fable, Onyx. You can switch voices or change the speed from 0.5× to 2.5× while it reads.
Can I download the audio as an MP3?
Not from this page. The free PDF to audio converter lets you download audio of a PDF, and the ArticleAudio extension can save what it reads as an MP3.
Is my text saved?
Your text is sent to our server and our voice provider only to create the audio. We don’t save the text. The audio for each sentence is kept for up to two days so repeat plays load faster.
Which languages does it read?
English for now.
